About the Festival
The festival originally started out as a group of film makers showing their films, along with some of their friends works, at a local theatre. Eventually, two local libraries reached out and helped run the festivals. The festival focused on local film makers (Scotch Plains, Fanwood & Westfield) and has featured work from elementary school students all the way up to Academy Award nominees. This year marks the 5th and most exciting year of the festival. Independent from other institutions such as the local libraries the festival has gone back to its original roots screening films in a movie theatre. The rich contribution it has given to local cinema will still be preserved as local films will still be a big focus. However, the festival is expanding itself to submissions from outside the local area. Auteurs from anywhere across the country may submit their works. They will have the unique opportunity to see their works as well as the works of others on the big screen in front of an audience. To celebrate the 5 years of the festivals existence the closing night of the festival will feature the "Best of" the last 4 years of the festival.
